Blue Line
Driven by the desire to offer customers a line of high-performance and efficient machine vision lighting solutions, Genesi Elettronica has developed the Blue Line, the families of illuminators capable of revolutionising the industrial sector.
The illuminators belonging to this line are:

What makes these lighting solutions unique are the following features:
- Simple connection with the M 12-5 pin connector;
- Maximum light output in all operating modes;
- Ignition speed that allows pulses of a few microseconds;
- Integrated controller allowing:
- 4 operating modes of the illuminator without the need for an external controller: continuous use, semi-continuous use, pulse with PNP or NPN trigger and analogue regulation;
- Monitoring of pulse duration and maximum temperature;
- Presence of a LED status indicator for checking the operation of the illuminator by means of different colours.
- 18 wavelengths, from UV to SWIR, to choose from;
- Lenses with a beam angle of 10°, 30°, 60° or 90°;
- Transparent, satin or opal covers. Possibility of additional covers with polarising filters;
- Illuminators compatible with the Genesi ABS606 controller for faster and more coordinated control and synchronisation logics (multiple illuminators, synchronisation with cameras, different switch-on times, different wavelengths, etc).
The Blue Line also stands out for its versatility. As a matter of fact, depending on the customer’s specific requirements, there is the possibility of either using the illuminators individually or in combination in order to achieve increasingly specific results thanks to their high-performance. An overview of the different features of each illuminator will be provided:
GP – Genesi Power Bar
Designed for use in linear or matrix camera applications, the GP – Genesi Power Bar lighting solution can be employed either alone or in combination with other illuminators of the same family to achieve uniform illumination of objects with complex geometry or not necessarily circular shapes. In addition, illuminators can be positioned at grazing angles to the inspection object to provide dark field illumination to highlight superficial details of planar objects.

GX – Genesi XBAR
Designed for use in vision systems with linear or matrix cameras, it is capable of generating a very intense line of light. The GX – Genesi XBAR differs from other lighting solutions in that it produces a light beam that, as a result of the lens used, it first converges and then diverges creating an angle of 4°.
Two other versions of this illuminator are also available, making it suitable for multiple applications. The first is identified by the acronym -ML, or Multi Lens, and is characterised by its ability to use the same lens in different positions, thus producing a light beam ranging from 4° to 45°. The second version, on the other hand, is characterised by having an opaline cover, which converts the illuminator into a diffuse light model, making it suitable for use as a backlight.

GEST – Genesi Mega-Ring
Designed to be used in matrix, colour or monochrome camera applications and capable of detecting the UV/IR/SWIR spectrum, the GEST – Genesi Mega-Ring lighting solution is ideal for pick-and-place applications on robots, high-speed line inspection of individual products, OCR character reading, etc.

GS – Genesi Spot
Designed for use inside plants and machines in applications where small and medium-sized surfaces need to be illuminated with directional light, not necessarily on axis with the camera, to bring out the smallest details of the object being inspected. Furthermore, it is possible to use the illuminators of the GS – Genesi Spot family in combination with each other to acquire images with light coming from different directions using algorithms for reconstructing the curvature of the object.

GB – Genesi Backlight
Designed for applications where there is the need to backlight a particular object to enhance the detection of its contents, its possible defects, its edges or for the analysis of transparent or semi-transparent materials, making it ideal, for example, for pick and place systems. Thanks to the collimated light version, it is also possible to use the GB – Genesi Backlight in combination with telecentric lenses to satisfy the requirements of metrological applications.
To meet the specific requirements of the Food & Beverage sector, where there is a need to provide intense and uniform illumination, the GB IP69K was developed, a 316 stainless steel version that can withstand humid environments and contact with products of different acidities.

GF – Genesi Flat Dome
Designed to be used in vision systems where there is a need to provide uniform illumination over areas of varying size, the GF – Genesi Flat Dome is able to provide a constant, high-power light beam over the entire surface of the object being examined, making it possible to both check colours and verify the condition of the product.
